When you install a tracker on an asset, the raw data sent by the tracker often doesn’t match the device’s mechanical meter reading (for example, because the tracker starts at 0, but the machine has already accumulated operating hours or kilometers).
With the parameter offset feature you “calibrate” the system to the real value of your asset.
Your benefits:
Flexible reading: You don’t have to record the meter reading exactly at the moment the tracker is installed. This can also be done days or weeks later.
Accurate recalculation: Since you provide the exact date and time of your manual reading, ToolSense calculates the delta (the offset) taking into account the data already recorded by the tracker since installation.
Universal use: This logic works for a wide range of values such as operating hours (runtime), mileage, or switching times.
In the menu on the left, navigate to Assets.
Select the desired asset.
At the top, click on the Edit tab.

Scroll down to the Asset check section.
Click on Show advanced settings.

Find the parameter offset section.
In the dropdown menu, select the parameter you want to correct (e.g. runtime, tracker mileage, etc.).
Click add parameter offset.

Fill in the form based on your reading on the device:
Measured value: The current “raw value” that the tracker has sent to the platform so far.
Change: Enter the actual total value you read on the machine’s display here.
From time: Select the exact date and time of your reading.
Offset: ToolSense automatically calculates the appropriate correction factor from this.

Multiple values: If your device sends multiple values (e.g. a vehicle tracker with operating hours and mileage), you can add more parameter rows and edit them at the same time using the plus icon (+)
Finish: Click Save at the very bottom of the page to apply the corrections.
After saving, you can check the adjusted value right away. To do this, go to the asset detail view and switch to the Data tab. There, the corrected total value is now shown, which is used as the basis for all further calculations.
