In some cases you might encounter the issue of your asset having a very inaccurate position displayed on the portal, like on the picture below.
We need to blur out the exact location, but it's clearly visible that the location is in the middle of a river, or at least somewhere around this green area, which is obviously not realistic in case of a cleaning machine.

The reason behind this is the way the tracking device was able to determine location.
By default we always use coordinates acquired via GPS satellites, however in some cases the module might not be able to get a location fix. This usually boils down to the device being indoors, where GPS signals might have a hard time to get to.
In such cases our modules will resort to a fall-back method of acquiring location via something called "location based services".
Simply put, the device collects information about nearby cell towers and provides this information to a third party service which maintains a database related to this kind of information and gives us an estimated location with uncertainty (blue circle).
This method heavily depends on the database, and therefore can result in high inaccuracy.
If your asset is being operated usually at one specific place, it is a good idea to assign it to a "Site" on the platform. This way, the displayed location will always be the assigned site's address, as long as the coordinates provided by the tracking device are not too far off from it.
You can always see the way the location was determined in the upper right corner.
