Crash detection is based on the force measured by the accelerometer whenever the speed of a vehicle drastically changes.
Our devices are currently configured to considering a crash when the force measured by the accelerometer is at least 4000 mG and this force lasts for at least 20 milliseconds.
This means that a very strong breaking might also be considered as a crash as well as a strong impact like hitting some roadside rails.
